The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run
When SpongeBob's beloved pet snail Gary is snail-napped by the vain King Poseidon, who needs snail slime to restore his youthful looks, SpongeBob and his best friend Patrick set off on a wild rescue mission to the mysterious Lost City of Atlantic City. Along the way they team up with a tumbleweed-riding cowboy named Sage and a former Krusty Krab worker named Otto, encountering absurd challenges that test their friendship and courage. The film's heartwarming ending shows SpongeBob turning Bikini Bottom into a snail sanctuary after freeing Gary and the other captive snails, emphasizing themes of loyalty, chosen family, and compassion for animals. As the first fully CGI-animated entry in the franchise, it blends nostalgic humor with a sincere message about friendship, dedicated to series creator Stephen Hillenburg.
