Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me
by Eric Carle
A whimsical picture book about a little girl named Monica who asks her papa to get the moon for her. Her devoted father fetches a very long ladder and climbs up to carefully bring down the moon, but it's too big to fit through the door. As the moon gradually gets smaller each night, Monica is finally able to play with it until it becomes so small it disappears, teaching her about the lunar cycle. This gentle story explores themes of parental love, the lengths parents go to for their children, and introduces basic astronomy concepts in an accessible way.
