Heroes of Olympus: The Son of Neptune

In this second installment of Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series, Percy Jackson awakens with no memory at Camp Jupiter, the Roman counterpart to Camp Half-Blood. He must prove himself to the Roman demigods while embarking on a quest to free Death itself and prevent the awakening of the earth goddess Gaea. The story features diverse characters including Frank Zhang, a Chinese-Canadian shapeshifter dealing with his heritage and self-confidence, and Hazel Levesque, an African-American daughter of Pluto who was brought back from the dead. Themes include identity, belonging, friendship, and the clash between Greek and Roman mythological traditions.
