Fish in a Tree

Ally Nickerson is a sixth-grader who has become an expert at hiding her inability to read through clever diversions and acting out in class. When a new teacher, Mr. Daniels, arrives and recognizes her struggles with dyslexia, Ally begins to understand that she's not stupid but learns differently. The story explores themes of learning differences, self-acceptance, friendship, and finding your unique strengths. Ally discovers that many successful people, including famous artists and inventors, also had dyslexia and learned to see it as a gift rather than a limitation.
